Alarm FAQs
Upgrading our network is necessary to ensure uninterrupted communication as the 3G network will be phased out by 30th of June. Between now and the end of June, all of the 3G towers will be switched off, one by one. We can't foresee when they will switch off the tower in your area. If left unchanged, there's a risk of sudden disruptions in communication with the Control Room during an alarm event.
We cannot predict exactly what happens with a PM24 due to the unstable Cat M1 Network. If you currently experience intermittent loss of communication, we strongly recommend upgrading to a reliable and stable communication unit, such as PM45 4G now. The risk with doing nothing is that a sudden loss of communication happens during an alarm event.
Bosch My Alarm App is linked to the old security company that doesn't exist anymore. The Bosch My Alarm app uses Bosch's own control app. They will have an add on IP module installed in their alarm system. Brave Security is already set up as a My alarm Bosch installer company. We are able to help but will need a site visit. We have to program our unique company installer code then add them to our portal.
To assist clients in setting-up their Pocket Secure App, you should always make sure that you have downloaded the latest version of the app which is Pocket Secure App 2.0. Intercom FAQs
2N is a very good, IP intercom system. They started in Prague in the early 90’s but were sold to Axis in 2016. The current manufacturer, ‘Axis Communications’ is a specialist IP camera manufacturer from Sweden. However, they do not make a 2-wire intercom, which means you would need to completely re-wire in Cat 6 or use a 2-wire to IP converter at each end of each cable, neither option we recommend. Comelit is a specialist Intercom manufacturer from Italy, founded in 1956. All they do is intercoms and have done so for 72 years. They really have their products perfected; they make a solution for every situation that just works. For example, a specialist 2-wire system for older wiring, possibly the best IP system on the market and are extremely price competitive.
Each resident will need a mobile device to receive a call. The OC will need to send the call. How it is sent depends if the OC decides to install the gateway and 4G modem or not. With the gateway, (cheapest and best option) the OC has an on-going data / sim card fee. If the OC doesn’t install the gateway, then the only way calls can be sent on to residents' mobile phones is if the individual resident purchases a 5” LCD screen with a built-in Wi Fi module.
Most minor wiring issues can be fixed. However, it is usually a concern of almost every Committee. If there are unforeseen wiring issues we need to spend time fixing, it will be a variation, but in the scheme of the project it will be a minor consideration. If large sections of wiring have been removed we will let you know, provide options and quote before commencing.
Yes, our quotes are usually all inclusive and include the Gateway module and licenses.
Optional Extras Available:
- Eco-friendly disposal of all old equipment. Please advise if required, otherwise we will leave on site.
- Repairing / replacing wiring, under $1,000 we will just do it and on charge. Larger, over $1,000, we will advise and quote.
- Access control fobs – we will manage the systems user database in the intercom on-going for free and sell fobs. We highly recommend this as keys are low security devices, locks should be changed to a registered key system with limited keys issued.
- Every apartment will have the option to purchase an upgraded 5” flat screen video monitor instead of the Audio only handset. Or if the OC doesn’t purchase the Gateway module they can purchase the 5” flat screen video monitor with built in Wi Fi.
We have many years of installation experience with upgrades just like this.
- Our Admin team will create a QR Code to collect the following data
- Residents name and contact details.
- Preferred install date and time.
- If they want to upgrade from Audio to Video.
- We have learnt communication is a key requirement for a happy final result:
- Once we have all the details per lot we will provide ongoing communication so everyone is informed of the progress.
Yes this can be done in programming.
Reduce the ringtone volume.
A mismatch of door stations, and an incompatible door station with the master station. Verify the model number of the master station. If the master station is JF-2MED and the door station is JK, the video works but there is no audio. Change the door or master so that both are within the same series; JF with JF, JK with JK/JM, JP with JP, etc.
Each Residential Unit can have up to 8 IXG-2C7 tenant stations.
Up to 8 mobile apps can be assigned to each Residential and Commercial Unit.
Yes, the IXG Mobile App can be used to release the door.
The IXG Series utilizes Cat-6/Cat-5e cable from the stations to a network switch.
Access Control FAQs
Yes, these fobs can be assigned as needed, such as for new employees or used by visitors. If, at any point, you find that all your fobs have been assigned and you require more, you can place additional orders with us in the future. The good news is that our process is more streamlined. We typically process credential orders within 24 hours, provided the invoice has been paid.
This decision is always with the OC. For all matters related to fob access, we are guided by the preferences and decisions of the OC and the Committee.
- We need to differentiate between the two systems "the Access Control", that manages the readers and fobs and the gate and gate motor. The Access Control system has a backup battery which will keep it live for a couple of hours depending on the usage during the power outage and the age of the batteries.
- However, the gate only keeps working during an outage if there is a backup battery installed for the gate powering motor. So the gate would require a manual override system.
